GIMP 2.8 Highlights


GIMP 2.8 is out, and ready for action! The changes and updates are all awesome, and I’m super excited to really dig into this version of GIMP. If you’re familiar with GIMP 2.6 some of the changes might throw you for a loop, so I’ve put together this video to highlight some of the bigger changes to GIMP 2.8.

These aren’t all of the differences between GIMP 2.6 and GIMP 2.8, but they are some that I think are pretty important to make a smooth transition from the old GIMP to the new GIMP.

I’m busy as a little bee updating my GIMP book to include the changes to GIMP 2.8 and I’ll be updating videos and tutorials along the line to make sure you know what’s going on, no matter which version of GIMP you’re using.

    I’m completely unable to get UFRaw to work for me with Gimp 2.8. I had to go back to GIMP 2.6.x in order for it to work (Using Windows 7 32 bit). There appear to be many others out there with issues – have you run into this and how did you get around it?
