Remove Glare on Glasses with GIMP -New How-to-GIMP Video Tutorial
I got a request recently for a specific How to GIMP tutorial. A very nice woman wanted to know how to remove or reduce the glare on a brides glasses in some wedding photos. Well, I’m always happy to help with any tips and techniques I know, and I’m especially excited to help make someone happy with their wedding photos!
In this particular case, the glare was fairly easy to remove – if you’re a little familiar with GIMP. So, I wrote up a tutorial and made a video tutorial over at How-to-GIMP.com and you’re all welcome to it!
If you’re brand new to GIMP, and you need some extra help, you might want to learn some GIMP basics first, before jumping into this particular GIMP tutorial. While I try to explain everything as I go, there may be a lot if information to absorb. Watch the video and see what you think.
If you feel like you need a little more help, you might want to check out my new GIMP for beginners book - Before and After. It’s inexpensive, comes with lots of extras (exclusive video tutorials, high quality practice images, and even a couple of GIMP brush sets), and it starts at the very beginning. If you’re frustrated trying to learn GIMP on your own, this book will help!

If you’re feeling frisky, try jumping in and following the tutorial. Really, nothing can replace practice. That’s why my book comes with over 30 practice images, and instructions on how to follow along as you read the book. But even if you’re not using the book, the more you use GIMP, the better you’ll get!
