Tone that Down! How to Brighten and Add Contrast without Making Highlights too Bright

Kat Landreth

This is part two of the Point and Shoot Challenge…  and it’s all about adding brightness and contrast to your photos in GIMP.

I set up my GIMP interface a little differently than most people to make GIMP easier to use. So, if you want to set up your GIMP interface the way I have mine set up in this video (and make it easier to follow along) check out this video first.

If you’re like “Huh?!” when I say, go to the Tool Options Dialogue… or Go to the Layers Dialogue, that video will help you a lot.

As always, if you have any questions, just ask. And if you like this video don’t forget to tell a friend.
